Sticky Business – A Custom Decal Case Study

For the last several years, Proforma in Tennessee has been working with one of their customers on a fulfillment program for a division of the world’s largest producer of vehicle emission systems and components. These high performance emission systems and mufflers are commonly used for NASCAR, in addition to standard vehicles. This client turned to Proforma several years ago to help provide bumper labels or decals for two of their high-performance exhaust systems. These bumper decals would be included in the box with the exhaust system.

Proforma got involved with the company initially through a Request for Quote (RFQ). The project involved production and fulfillment of two different decals. The quantity for the entire year is 800,000, broken out into 11,100 a month to various locations.

After receiving the RFQ, Proforma put together his plan. He quoted the program using one vendor, and contacted another company to help with the stuffing and shipping of the decals. Proforma was able to adhere to their requirement of releasing 11,100 labels at a time. At the same time, it turned out that Proforma was able to save the company a substantial amount of money in his quote, so Proforma was awarded the contract.

After the initial order, the client asked Proforma if there was a way to help them save money on this project. Proforma investigated alternative vendors, and was able to find one that met both their needs and those of the customer. This allowed the relationship to continue smoothly. The process for Proforma is relatively simple. The client faxes a release to Proforma, who then has the decals stuffed in envelopes, sent to him for repackaging, then sent out to the client locations. These labels are then included with the product.

The client has been very happy with the products and services that Proforma has been able to provide for them. Not only did Proforma save them money initially, but was able to continue to save them money and provide the best value to the customer.
