Proforma has a very loyal client in a local career college, but it took Proforma over two years to reach that point. The school is dedicated to providing premiere educational choices and advanced employment preparation for youth, adults and organizations in Ohio. During that time, Proforma was trying to get a chance to work on their print projects, including their career book/catalog.
During one of their conversations about the career book, Proforma proposed that they come up with some ideas for layouts and designs for the catalog, just for them to take a look at. The college agreed.
Proforma contacted a graphic designer in Las Vegas who, after heading a group of 100 designers and working on major accounts with a firm, went out on his own. Proforma explained his situation with the school, and he began working on some designs. They wanted to closely reflect the high-tech image of the school, and provide a fresh, young look. When the samples were ready, Proforma went back to meet with the contacts at the school and see what they thought. They loved the new designs and were ready to hand the project over to Proforma.
The old career book was a bit dated, and used stock photographs and images to represent the different courses and career paths. Proforma idea was to use the actual students in the photographs, thereby presenting a fresh, accurate and exciting image. They spent five full days taking photographs of the students and classes.
The school was just thrilled with the finished product. The students were excited to be included in the catalog, and the school liked how the catalog reflected their high-tech, energetic approach to education. Shortly after the catalog was released, the school sent Proforma an e-mail with some great news—the Career Planning Guide won a “Best of the Best” award from the National School Public Relations Association of Ohio. Not surprisingly, the school is eager to get started on their next project with Proforma!
